Elizabeth retired from her family business in Wellington (Mischa Wine Estate) to establish Eventide Lodge on the Bitou river. Her dream of being close to the beach and still maintaining a tranquil farm lifestyle came true. Her passion is now to share her dream with you along with her 6 dogs (5 of them rescues). Scooby was rescued at a similar time as Penelope but at an older age. Scooby is very energetic and the bodyguard of the family. She loves a bark or two and extremly fond of Lucy.
August is the newest arrival. She was found in Woodstock in a terrible state by Elizabeth's son, Shaun. After rehabilition in Bloubergstrand and lots of walks on the beach, August met the family in Late October and is the playful baby of the family.
The Basset Hounds, Lucy and Floppy. Lucy is the only dog not rescued by Elizabeth and she sure knows it! She believes she is of royal ancestory prefers to go by her full name Lucinda. Lucy holds a special place in Elizabeth's heart. Floppy was rescued in Wellington and was Elizabeth's late husband's pride and joy. Floppy and August are inseperable and can be seen sleeping together or playing at any time of the day.
Yodi was rescued from Paarl and is the most wonderfully natured dog in the family. He is always jubilant and at times can be seen smiling. He and the bassets enjoy their privileges on the couches!
Penelope was found in Wellington by Elizabeth's son, Gareth (who now runs the Family business alongside the eldest brother, Andrew). At just 6 weeks old, Elizabeth hand reared this gentle dog. Penelope is loving and the mother of the family.
